Truly Romantic Ceremonies is the combination of two hopeless romantics who love helping couples to start their married life with a really memorable ceremony. Jack has been married to Audrey for 54 years and Ray to Sally for 43 years. The four of us have been good friends and neighbours for about 17 years. Sally and Audrey are our “roadies” looking after the PA system, taking some pictures for our albums and generally being available to help you on the day.

We work together under the banner “Truly Romantic” but once you choose one of us we work independently. Being a team allows us to develop resources such as our “Wedding Kit” more efficiently and to be a backup for each other where possible. Working together allows us to share promotional opportunities and so that when people are booking a specific date we have twice the chance of having a qualified and experienced Celebrant available.

We commit ourselves to ensuring that your wedding day fulfils all your hopes and dreams. Whether you choose Jack or Ray your ceremony will be unique and we will deliver it for you with feeling on your very special day.

When you confirm a booking with one of us you can settle back and relax. We take full responsibility for your ceremony being exactly the way you want it. Your work will be limited to making choices from the material we give you, unless you wish to become more involved, in which case we will assist you the whole way.

Legal documentation is all completed by us with no hassles for you. On your special day we will be there to guide you through every stage with professional PA facilities that will ensure that all your guests hear every word.

As well as being true romantics we are competitive and each of us would love to be your celebrant and perform your ceremony, your way, any time, any place.

How does our “Wedding Kit” work?

The Truly Romantic “Wedding Kit“ system allows you to guide us as we craft your unique ceremony. You have many choices for each segment of the ceremony. The basic structure is designed to create a “sense of occasion” without boring people to death. Most ceremonies run for about 20-25 minutes from the entry of the Bride to signing the Certificates. Of course the ceremony is yours and you may opt for a longer ceremony with activities such as a Sand Ceremony or Hand Tying.

The wedding kit gives us the words for the ceremony but there are many other issues during the ceremony that you probably haven’t even thought of. They are covered as we discuss each element of the ceremony in detail during our initial meeting.

All the legal requirements and documentation are covered in a professional and private way. If you wish to have a private ceremony with less than ten people, we have a small garden area that you can use as your venue at no extra cost.

A professional public address system is included so that the words of the ceremony are clear to all the guests.

All you have to do is “turn up on the day and remember your name”, and we will do the rest. You are guided at every stage and there are no passages that you have to remember unless of course you want to say your vows unaided.

• A “Wedding Kit” to make your role in the ceremony design as easy and painless as possible.
• A meeting in the week before the wedding where necessary to walk through the ceremony and allow everyone to know what to expect on your big day.
• Presentations based on years of professional presentations worldwide. Our attire on the day depends on your requirements but it is normally a smart suit and tie.
• A presentation booklet with the complete ceremony and a guest book for you to keep.
• Testimonials from previous weddings and reference to very satisfied couples.
• A professional public address system (at no extra cost) so that everyone hears every word.

Where we live and work

Jack and Ray are long time residents of Redland Shire/City. We are happy to perform weddings anywhere but would like to acknowledge some of the local venues that we enjoy so much.

• Macarthur Park complete with their fully restored historic wedding chapel.
• The Old Courthouse Restaurant on Cleveland Point full of history and with Bayside frontage.
• Sirromet Winery set among the vines or by the Laguna. Views forever over the Bay Islands.
• Redland Bay Golf Club where your ceremony is by a beautiful lake and fountain right on the course.
• The Grand View Hotel Queensland’s oldest licensed hotel overlooking North Stradbroke Island.
